Janelle Upthegrove, Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, has been nominated for the position of Treasurer with the Behavior Analysis Association of Mississippi (BAAMS) board. She currently serves as the President of the First Class Petty Officer Association (FCPOA), which is a professional military organization with more than 40 military members. As President of the FCPOA she oversaw the creation and supply of Association swag (T-shirts and challenge coins), authors a monthly newsletter distributed to all members, and organizes social events that incorporate inactive members as well as newly recruited members. Mrs. Upthegrove has served previously as the Vice-President of the FCPOA.
Mrs. Upthegrove is the Program Coordinator at Will’s Way Gulf Coast and provides supervision to RBTs as well as direct ABA therapy services. She is furthermore responsible for daily administrative tasks, conducting staff meetings, interviewing RBT applicants, and maintaining a positive professional atmosphere across staff and clients. She is a US Navy Active Duty veteran and currently serves in the US Navy Reserves. Mrs. Upthegrove has 13 years of military service and currently manages a Navy Reserve unit of approximately 50 personnel as the Leading Petty Officer.
Mrs. Upthegrove graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of La Verne with a B.S. in Psychology and holds two post-baccalaureate certificates in Autism Spectrum Disorder Studies and Applied Behavior Analysis. Additionally, Mrs. Upthegrove completed training through the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and is proficient in Persian-Farsi.
Mrs. Upthegrove is an avid reader, loves to run, and lives in Gulfport with her husband, two children, and three lazy cats.
